Cleveland Browns To Wear Retro Jerseys For 75th Anniversary

At some point this season the team will be taking the field in throwback uniforms intended to honor the franchise’s inaugural 1946 season. A season in which the Browns finished 12-2 and eventually went on the win the All-American Football Championship. A championship they won four straight years upon entering the league.

As a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan, I can only hope that some of the 1946 magic can find its way back to Cleveland for the upcoming season. As for the jersey itself, I’m a fan. I will admit that the Browns uniforms never tend to vary all that much, and the same is true here. A few subtle differences versus what I’m used to seeing, all of which I like.

The all-white look is always seems so classic and clean, and anything is better than the brown pants. The helmet features a single white stripe, plus the player’s number is written in brown on the side. I also really like the orange drop shadows offset from the brown numbers.

Shoutout to OSNN for the Side View of the Helmet

While uniform announcements do in fact fall into the category of not-so-newsworthy topics, it seems well-timed given the lack of current sports news worth discussing. Also this is a positive uniform announcement, which is very welcome following a less than stellar re-branding job done by the soon to be Cleveland Guardians.
