Chris Paul Clearly has the Absolute Worst Playoff Luck!

Another year, and yet another issue? That’s right, as the Phoenix Suns are resting and awaiting an opponent for the Western Conference Finals news surfaces that Chris Paul has tested positive for COVID. Based on the NBA protocols this would mean that Paul is facing a 10-14 day quarantine, which would likely result in him missing at least one if not multiple games in the Western Conference Finals.

According to Jalen Rose, Chris Paul has already been vaccinated for COVID-19, thus confirming that he does in fact have the absolute worst playoff luck in league history. Assuming that the COVID protocols for the NBA Playoffs are the same as the regular season, Paul is set to enter a 10-14 day quarantine putting him at risk of missing at least one, if not multiple games to start the Western Conference Finals.

The Clippers and Jazz play a pivotal Game 5 tonight, with Game 6 scheduled for Friday night and if necessary Game 7 would be Sunday. So even if that Clippers-Jazz series goes the full 7 games, we’re not much more than a week away from the start of the Western Conference Finals.

What Will Happen Next?

Spoiler alert, the unexpected! Get ready for the NBA league office to be doing anything and everything they can to expedite the process and get Chris Paul back on the court as soon as possible. Already facing a shortage of star-power remaining in the playoffs, it will be interesting to see just how much the league decides to bend its’ own rules and protocols in order to maximize their playoff profits.

Conspiracy Theory: Maybe Adam Silver Hates Chris Paul?

Time will tell and we will likely get a very clear answer to this theory based on the NBA’s response to the current Chris Paul situation.
