According to Peter King from NBC Sports, there is a possibility that the New York Jets might seriously look into trading for Lamar Jackson, the quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens, during this offseason.
While the Jets are rumored to have Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers as their top priority if he remains interested in playing and is open to being traded, the team could also consider Jackson in the event that Rodgers retires or opts to stay with the Packers.
Even if the Ravens decide to use the franchise tag on Jackson, the Jets could still pursue him by offering two first-round draft picks. However, it’s uncertain if Jackson will stay with the Ravens in 2023, as he and the team are reportedly $100 million apart in contract negotiations for a long-term extension. Additionally, Jackson has missed significant time in the past two seasons due to injuries towards the end of the year.
