Kirk Cousins and the Vikings travel to Baltimore to play against the Ravens, who currently sit atop the AFC North standings with a 5-2 record. These teams are very evenly matched in many areas, and this game will likely come down to the final possession. Ravens win by 2.
Baltimore Ravens
Run Game
It’s no surprise or special insight to say that the run game will be key to the Ravens success. But given their advantage when it comes to their O-Line matching up against the Vikings D-Line. The Ravens have a significant statistical advantage in this area, which should manifest itself into success on the ground.
Special Teams
This is an area in which the Ravens set themselves apart from the competition, as they currently have the leagues highest ratings when it comes to the special teams category.
This special teams edge is also why I’m leaning Ravens to win a close game in an otherwise even matchup.
Minnesota Vikings
Pass Protection
Kirk Cousins should have plenty of time to get comfortable in the pocket, as the Ravens defensive front has not been able to generate consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks. This could be dangerous due to the fact that the Vikings have two elite talents in Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen at receiver.
Pass Defense
The Vikings pass defense is another area in which they have an advantage over the Ravens. Perhaps the defense can create turnovers in order to offset the Ravens special teams advantage and propel Minnesota to victory.
