THIS WEEK IN SPORTS: JULY 25th – JULY 31st

Football season is officially upon us as we bring July to a close. Every NFL franchise will have their Training Camps open and at full capacity. We ’re also about a week away from the annual Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. This years opening showcase will involve the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Las Vegas Raiders. The College Football landscape is also active this week with more conferences hosting their Media Day events. The MLB season is now officially in the second half and the trade deadline looms. The unique thing about this season is that the playoffs have expanded from 4 to 6 teams in each league.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL:

-Media Days continue to unfold as the excitement of the upcoming 2022 season builds.

• B1G Media Days occur on July 26th and 27th from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. (Big Ten Network)

• PAC 12 Media Day is Friday, July 29th (PAC 12 Network)

• MAC Media Day is on Tuesday, July 26th

• Conference USA Kickoff is Wednesday, July 27th from Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX

• American Athletic Conference (AAC) Media Day is Thursday, July 28th.

• Sun Belt Conference Media Days are July 26th and 27th

• First Preseason Game is the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday, August 4th between the Jaguars and Raiders
• Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is Saturday, August 6th from Canton, OH
• Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Detroit Lions debuts on August 9th
• Questions i’m asking…How long will Deshaun Watson be suspended (i say it should be all of 2022 and don’t give me the retroactive to 2021 season nonsense as time served) and what will the NFL decide on Alvin Kamara based on the events in Vegas during the Pro Bowl.

MLB:

• Atlanta Braves at Philadelphia Phillies (Monday thru Wednesday)
• Texas Rangers at Seattle Mariners (Monday thru Wednesday)
• Minnesota Twins at Milwaukee Brewers (Tuesday and Wednesday)

• Cleveland Guardians at Tampa Bay Rays (Friday thru Sunday)
