We are entering a unique season that will break the European Club Soccer seasons into 2 parts. The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will take place in November and early December. This will result in a complete pause of play for weeks and who knows if injuries or team chemistry are disrupted as well.

We saw a lot of player movement during the summer transfer window. World class striker Robert Lewandowski had a messy departure from Bayern Munich and is now roaming the final third for Barcelona. His spot at the Allianz Arena in Munich was replaced by Liverpool legend Sadio Mane. The German Bundesliga saw another star depart the league for a different challenge. Norwegian striker Erling Haaland made his move from Borussia Dortmund to the 2 time defending English Champion squad Manchester City. In an effort to replace Mane and counter the Haaland move, Liverpool signed striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica in Portugal. These moves were just the tip of the spear of the transfer market throughout Europe. The irony is that global superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is stuck at rebuilding Manchester United and nobody wants him or can afford him at this time. If his asking price plummets, he could be on the move during the winter transfer window to supplement a contender.
