NFL DRAFT: Day 2 Recap & Day 3 Preview

3 rounds are in the books and 4 more are headed our way on Saturday. The record for wide receivers taken in the first 3 rounds was tied. Georgia continued to see players selected, with 4 going on Day 2 brining the total to 9. The Dawgs also set a record for most defenders selected in the first 3 rounds with 7.

They weren’t the only story on Day 2. The Vegas lights shine very brightly, similar to the NFL focus on Quarterbacks. Desmond Ridder was the first name called on Friday night after an agonizing wait. He will continue to wear red and black, but the mascot is now a Falcon. Soon after that the Titans selected Malik Willis from Liberty and Carolina took Matt Corral from Ole Miss. A few other names off the board on Friday were Christian Watson to the Packers, David Ojabo to Baltimore, Breece Hall to the Jets among many others.

As it stands on Saturday morning, i love what the Jets, Eagles, Ravens, Colts and Packers have done. Maybe the Patriots, Cowboys and Bears know more than me, but so far their haul has me wanting more. This has been a very active first 2 days with the abundance of trades. The focus has been very clear for all 32 franchises, Offensive Line, Pass Rushers and Wide Receivers are a priority. As I look forward to Day 3, I expect many more trades as contending teams move assets to move up. A few Day 3 questions are; Who drafts Sam Howell, Do the Packers take a receiver in the 4th Rd and does a team trade for Mayfield, Jimmy G, or Jordan Love?
